Bellarine-based business, Adelia Fine Foods, is the latest recipient of an energy efficiency grant as part of the Albanese Government’s program to support local business.

Federal Member for Corangamite, Libby Coker, visited the Ocean Grove business to announce funding of more than $24,000 to upgrade its food processing machinery.

Business owner, Amelia Trethowan, said the business is investing in a new energy efficient automation process for the tempering and finishing of chocolate for its Rocky Road range of gluten free treats.

The upgrades will allow the business to replace an energy intense machine on its production line, allowing for a 50% decrease in power consumption.

Adelia Fine Foods is now the second recipient announced by Ms Coker as part of the latest round of Energy Efficiency Grants, with Bells Beach Brewing also receiving funding.

Energy Efficiency Grants allow for upgrades that include replacing inefficient hot water systems with modern heat pump technology, swapping energy draining lights for new LEDs, and commercial refrigeration upgrades.

Round 2 supported over 1,700 small and medium businesses with $41.2 million in grants.

These grants are part of the Albanese Government’s commitment to ease the cost of doing business, working alongside the $325 energy rebate for around 1 million small businesses across the country.
